A major portion of the of the responsibility of County Commissioners is to create ordinances for the regulation of private property.
It is our opinion that the current ordinances have gone much too far in the direction of regulation.
There is absolutely no reason why a house on 40 acres should not be -- within safety-to-neighbors and other similar reasons -- the size the owner wants it. Nebulous ideas about "too big" and "conforms with the neighborhood" are exactly the kinds of things that Libertarians will unwind.
There is absolutely no reason why a government agency should regulate the size, style, or color of a house ... any more than a government agency should regulate the size, style, and fashion of the clothes that you wear.
As Commissioners, we will restore to the citizens the freedoms that have been stolen from them by government.
